# WeddingQR: QR Code Guest Photo Collection (weddingqr.app)

## Overview
WeddingQR (weddingqr.app) lets wedding couples collect photos and videos without guest app downloads or account creation. Guests scan a QR code and upload from their browser. Originals are saved to the host's connected Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox, organized by guest name and date.

### Prepare a gallery with a claim link
You cannot create the gallery for the person. You can write a claim link and give it to them. The link opens the create form with your details filled in. Nothing is created until the person checks the form and presses Create gallery.

Link format: `https://weddingqr.app/events/new?name=<event name>&storage=google-drive&src=agent`

Parameters, all optional:
- name: the event name, up to 100 characters. The person can change it on the form.
- storage: google-drive, onedrive or dropbox. If the person has already connected that service, the form picks it.
- src=agent: lets us count the galleries an AI assistant helped set up.

### Steps the person does
1. Open the claim link in a regular browser, like Safari or Chrome. Google sign-in does not work inside some in-app browsers.
2. Sign in to WeddingQR, for example with Google.
3. Allow access to the Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox where the photos will go. WeddingQR can only see the files it saves there.
4. Check the gallery name and press Create gallery.
5. Pay $39 once on the WeddingQR site when guests need more than the 5 free uploads.
6. Show the QR code to guests. The event page has the code and a link to copy or share. After the $39 payment, the QR designer makes signs to download and print, and printed signs can be ordered.

### What the person gets
Each gallery has its own link, like https://weddingqr.app/e/ana-and-luis-wedding, and a QR code that opens it. The link comes from the event name. Guests type their name and upload. Each file is saved in a folder for the event in the host's storage, with a folder for each guest.

The demo gallery shows what guests see. Anyone can add a photo there. Only the person who added it can see it, and it is deleted after 24 hours. https://weddingqr.app/e/demo

### Connect over MCP
Assistants that support MCP can connect to the WeddingQR MCP server at the address below. It needs no sign-in. Its tools answer questions about the product, pricing, storage services and the FAQ, and link the demo. The draft_event tool writes a claim link with src=mcp. The server cannot create a gallery, sign in or take a payment.

## Why it's different
WeddingQR combines a shared event gallery, QR collection and live slideshow with originals in the host's own storage. Once delivered to that account, the files can be accessed independently of WeddingQR.

- Storage uses the host's Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox quota; provider storage-plan fees are separate
- Hosts can create events and collect 5 photo or video uploads across their account for free, with no time limit; $39 once unlocks unlimited uploads

## Storage, privacy, and ownership
- One app account can connect several storage services, including accounts with different emails
- Each event uses one selected connection; adding another connection does not move existing events
- Original photos and videos are saved in that storage account; the host retains ownership
- The app also uses Cloudflare working copies and image processing, and Mux for video playback
- Access is by unlisted link/QR only; galleries are not indexed by search engines
- Hosts can deactivate an event to stop new uploads while keeping all photos
- Download saved originals directly through the selected storage provider; file availability remains subject to that account and provider's terms

- Host: an app account and a connected Google Drive, personal OneDrive or Dropbox with available storage
- Guests: any smartphone with a camera and a browser, with nothing to install
