WeddingQR vs GuestPix (2026): Storage, Pricing, and Expiry Compared

Updated July 24, 2026 by the WeddingQR team

We build WeddingQR, so this comparison comes with an obvious bias. Everything below about GuestPix comes from their public pricing and feature pages as of July 2026, and we say plainly where GuestPix is the better fit.

Both products solve the same problem: guests scan a QR code and upload wedding photos from their phone browser, with no app and no account. The structural difference is what happens to the photos afterward.

The storage difference, spelled out

GuestPix hosts your photos on their servers. Their published policy gives you a gallery for 12 months from your event date, with renewal fees to keep it online after that. Their base tier also closes new uploads 3 months after the event, which matters because guests keep finding photos in their camera rolls for months.

WeddingQR transfers every photo, at full resolution, into your own Google Drive as it is uploaded, organized into a folder per guest and dated from the photo's capture time. There is nothing to renew because we never hold the photos. If WeddingQR vanished the day after your wedding, your photos would already be in your Drive.

Where GuestPix is the better choice

GuestPix has features we do not. If a video guestbook is a priority, or you want digital invitations and RSVP tracking in the same product, GuestPix's higher tiers deliver a genuinely broad toolkit. Their template library for printable signage is also large, at 180+ designs, if you prefer printing your own.

Where WeddingQR is the better choice

Price and permanence. WeddingQR's $39 undercuts GuestPix's base tier while including things GuestPix meters by tier: unlimited uploads with no time window, video uploads, and a gallery that never expires. One WeddingQR payment also covers unlimited events, so the engagement party, the shower, and the wedding itself run on the same $39. And if you would rather receive a printed sign in the mail than fight a Canva template the week of your wedding, we ship those.

The bottom line

Choose GuestPix if the video guestbook and invite suite are worth $49 to $177 to you and you are comfortable with a hosted gallery on a 12 month clock. Choose WeddingQR if you want every photo in storage you own, forever, for $39. Our FAQ covers the details of how the Google Drive delivery works.
